Does solar offer a tax credit?

YES!

The solar investment tax credit (ITC) allows you to deduct 30% of the cost of installing a solar energy system from your federal taxes.  Keep in mind that in Pennsylvania, the ITC applies only to those who have bought their solar system with a solar loan or a cash purchase, and the homeowner must have enough income for the tax credit to be relevant. You should check with your tax advisor regarding the details.
